Frequently-Asked Questions

 Do you take insurance?

We accept credit/debit cards, cash, or Zelle. Some clients have used their Health Savings or Flexible Spending accounts to reimburse the charges, but it depends on each specific plan’s guidelines.

How long does it take to see results?

Most of my clients see significant results within the first 4-8 weeks. In many cases, they notice individual symptoms reducing or disappearing in as few as 1-2 weeks. Your body is always trying to heal, and it’s very good at that job. Sometimes, we don’t listen to it very well and burden it with self-imposed obstacles, ignoring its cries for help. I help you get in touch with those signals again.

Do I need the RESTART program or 1-on-1 Nutritional Therapy?

This is a question we answer during your free 15-minute Discovery Call. It depends on your specific health concerns, your preferences, etc. In general, if you have any diagnosed health conditions or are on prescribed medications, I would probably recommend individual work. If you just want to lose some weight and learn about nutrition and how your body works best with food, you might be a better candidate for the RESTART program.

Some clients begin by taking the RESTART program for the group support, then continue on to do individual work to chase down any remaining health concerns.

How long is your individual nutrition program?

In most cases, the length of our work together depends on your progress and the complexity of your health concerns. We start with an Initial Consultation to evaluate your health and create a protocol to follow, then follow-up on a flexible schedule to monitor progress until you’ve reached your health goals. For some people, that consists of monthly visits, but for others we meet more often.

I have one prepaid package that includes a longer plan with a set number of visits included, if that works better for your commitment and motivation, too.

Do you require lab work?

No, lab work isn’t required. If you have recent test results, it can provide additional insight or baseline numbers. There are a few tests that might be recommended, based on your health concerns, that can be done through your own doctor or a direct, discounted testing site. We would discuss that during your Initial Consultation session.

Will you provide meal plans?

In most cases, you’ll receive lists of foods to include/exclude along with recipes, based on your health concerns, rather than a hard-and-fast meal plan schedule. This allows you to create delicious meals that match your individual preferences and cooking capabilities. It’s also a more sustainable approach, so you can establish a diet and lifestyle to make your body thrive going forward.

Is this a weight loss program?

Many clients come to me with weight loss as their primary concern, and nearly all of them lose weight on their protocol. Carrying excess weight is a symptom of foundational imbalances, so by correcting the imbalances, the body heals itself and begins to naturally shed the excess weight until it reaches a normalized level.

Likewise, people who are underweight can resolve their weight issue by balancing their foundations and eliminating the obstacles preventing them from gaining sufficient weight (breakdown and absorption of nutrients).

Do you work with children?

Not typically, but I have made some exceptions. With nutrition changes, it’s often best to work with the parents as they are the primary meal providers and can understand advanced topics. The ripple effect helps the children in the family.

I do perform energy work for children, just not nutrition work.

Do you work remotely or in-person?

Yes, I can work remotely with out-of-state or distant clients. For those within driving distance, it’s best to do in-person sessions or a combination - for example, doing the Initial Consultation in person, then doing Follow-Up visits either in person or over video conferencing depending on our schedules. I’ve been told my office is a very soothing environment, so it’s nice to get away from the “daily grind” allowing you to focus on your health transformation!

Are you an actual therapist?

No, I’m a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, not a mental health professional. I provide basic coaching and motivation, along with the nutritional assessments and recommendations. However, many of my clients have reported significant improvements in their mental health and emotional resilience as a result of optimizing their nutrient levels, gut health, sleep quality, and eliminating food sensitivities. Mental health concerns are often a consequence of your foundations being out of balance. Resolving the foundational imbalances allows the body resources to heal itself in all areas.

All my test results come back normal, but I still don’t feel good. Can you help me investigate?

I hear this often, and the answer is yes. A healthy body is pain-free, has boundless energy, feels great after eating, doesn’t need pharmaceutical medication, and is almost always lean and strong. If that doesn’t describe you, something’s out of balance. I love being a “health detective” and discovering what each client needs to restore their vibrant health!
